FOCUS AND SCOPE

Indonesian Journal of Law Research (IJOLARES) is an international, open-access, peer-reviewed journal that focuses on rigorous, innovative, and critical legal scholarship addressing contemporary legal developments at national, regional, and international levels. The journal provides a scholarly platform for academics, researchers, legal practitioners, policymakers, and other legal scholars to examine emerging legal issues, legal reforms, governance, human rights, justice, and the relationship between law and society. IJOLARES particularly welcomes research concerning Indonesia, Southeast Asia, developing countries, and emerging economies, as well as comparative and cross-border legal studies with broader international relevance.

IJOLARES welcomes normative and doctrinal legal research, empirical legal research, socio-legal studies, comparative legal studies, interdisciplinary research, theoretical and conceptual studies, case analyses, and policy-oriented legal research. The scope of IJOLARES encompasses constitutional and administrative law, civil and commercial law, criminal law and criminal justice, human rights and social justice, international and comparative law, environmental and natural resources law, customary and indigenous law, legal pluralism, law and society, governance and public policy, legal reform, access to justice, dispute resolution, cyber law, digital governance, data protection and privacy, artificial intelligence and law, and other emerging legal issues. The journal also welcomes interdisciplinary scholarship that examines the interaction between law and politics, economics, culture, technology, society, and sustainable development.
