JOCER: Journal of Civic Education Research is an international peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing scholarly research, theory, and practice in civic education, citizenship studies, and civic life. The journal provides an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, educators, policymakers, practitioners, and scholars to examine contemporary issues concerning citizenship, democracy, civic participation, civic values, and the development of active, responsible, and globally engaged citizens.
JOCER welcomes theoretical, conceptual, empirical, comparative, and evidence-based studies that contribute to the advancement of civic education and citizenship scholarship in local, national, regional, and global contexts. The journal particularly encourages research that connects civic education and citizenship with contemporary social, political, cultural, legal, technological, and educational transformations.
Scope
JOCER welcomes original research and scholarly studies in, but not limited to, the following areas:
JOCER particularly welcomes interdisciplinary and comparative research that generates new theoretical, methodological, or empirical insights into civic education and citizenship. Studies are encouraged to employ rigorous qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, systematic review, comparative, or other appropriate research methodologies.
The journal welcomes contributions from diverse geographical and cultural contexts and seeks to promote dialogue between local, national, regional, and global perspectives on civic education and citizenship.
