Journal of Civic Education Research (JOCER) provides immediate open access to all of its published articles. All published articles are freely available to readers without subscription, registration, or access fees.

JOCER applies a Gold Open Access model to support the free and broad dissemination of scholarly knowledge in the field of civic education and related areas.

  1. Immediate Open Access

All articles published by JOCER are made freely and immediately accessible upon publication through the official journal website.

Readers may access the published articles without subscription or payment.

There is no embargo period for accessing published articles.

  1. Creative Commons License

All articles published by JOCER are licensed under:

Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Under this license, readers and other users are permitted to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes.

These permissions are subject to the terms and conditions of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

  1. Attribution Requirement

When using or redistributing an article published by JOCER, users must provide appropriate attribution.

Attribution should include, where applicable:

  • The name(s) of the author(s);
  • The title of the article;
  • The name of the journal (JOCER: Journal of Civic Education Research);
  • The publication year;
  • The source or journal website; and
  • A link to the applicable CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

Users must also indicate if changes were made to the original material.

  1. ShareAlike Requirement

Any adaptation, remix, transformation, or derivative work based on an article published by JOCER must be distributed under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 license or a license recognized as compatible with the ShareAlike requirement.

The Open Access policy allows authors to disseminate their research widely while ensuring that appropriate attribution is maintained and derivative works remain available under the same licensing conditions.

JOCER is committed to maintaining continued access to its published articles.

Published articles are preserved in the journal's online archive and remain available to readers after publication.

The journal archive is intended to support the long-term accessibility, discoverability, citation, and dissemination of published scholarly works.
