Publication Process

Publication Process

The Journal of Multidisciplinary Law Studies (JOMLAS) implements a rigorous, transparent, and ethical publication process to ensure the quality and integrity of all published articles. The publication stages are outlined as follows:

1. Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted by the author(s) through the journal’s online submission system. Submissions must comply with the journal’s author guidelines, formatting template, and scope.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

Upon successful submission, the manuscript undergoes an initial screening conducted by the editorial team. This stage includes an evaluation of plagiarism levels, compliance with the journal template, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope.

The initial screening process typically takes approximately 5–10 working days. The editor reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s requirements at this stage.

Manuscripts that are rejected or require revision at the initial screening stage may be revised and resubmitted by the author(s) within a maximum period of three (3) months from the date of rejection.

If the revised manuscript is not resubmitted within the specified timeframe or does not adequately address the editor’s comments, JOMLAS reserves the right to remove the manuscript from the OJS system.

3. Pre-Review Stage

At this stage, further editorial discussion and assessment of the manuscript are conducted. Manuscripts deemed suitable will proceed to the peer-review stage.

Each manuscript is reviewed by two independent peer reviewers (double-blind review). The peer-review process may take approximately one month, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript.

4. Editorial Decision During Peer Review

Based on the reviewers’ reports and editorial evaluation, the editor may issue one of the following decisions:

  • Accepted: The manuscript is accepted and proceeds to the next stage.

  • Revision Required: The manuscript may proceed after the editor has reviewed and approved the revised version.

  • Resubmit for Review: The manuscript must be revised and resubmitted for further evaluation at the pre-review stage.

  • Rejected: The manuscript is deemed unsuitable for publication.

5. Author Revision

Manuscripts requiring revision or resubmission will be returned to the author(s) for revision.

The revision deadline is determined by the editor based on the extent of the required revisions. Multiple rounds of revision may be requested.

The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection is made after the editor has evaluated the revised manuscript. An official acceptance letter will be issued once the manuscript is formally accepted.

6. Editing and Proofreading

Accepted manuscripts will undergo an editorial process, including copyediting and proofreading, to ensure clarity, consistency, and academic quality.

This stage takes a maximum of 20 working days.

7. Online Publication

Manuscripts that have successfully completed all publication stages will be published online and made accessible through the official JOMLAS website.
